The Team

If you're going to listen to my advice, then I suppose you'll want to know who I am!

The Intrepid Travellers To the left is a photo of me with my three gap year travelling companions. It's quite a cold, overcast afternoon in New Zealand. A bit reminiscent of England! Clockwise from top left we are: Natalie Hudson, Emily Morris, Mark Russell and Simon Hooks.

My gap year turned out to be an amazing experience, quite possibly the best year of my life.

We finished college (that's equivalent to high school for you Americans) in July 2001. Then we worked really hard for a few months to get as much money as we could. The days quickly flew by, and before we knew it, it was 1st November 2001, and time to leave on our travels...

We all hail from the historic town of Gosport in the south of England. We're typical students in some ways but extraordinary in other ways (or so our mums say). We spent seven(!) years at Bay House school where we did our GCSEs and our A-Levels. After 7 long years of study, we really did a year travelling to recover.

We've known each other for about five years and we're all totally different in some aspects but similar in other ways. I think we get on so well because we fill in each others gaps to make a complete team. It really helped that we know each other so well. While we were travelling, we knew how to behave around each other so we didn't bug each other. For the months that we were travelling together, we didn't have any trouble between us, and we're still good friends to date...
